Versant Power is preparing for high winds and heavy rain

Release Date:  12-10-2024

Bangor and Presque Isle, Maine — Versant Power is preparing for the impact of a wind and rainstorm expected to begin late Wednesday night and continue into early Thursday morning. Wind gusts of up to 50mph are predicted across our service territory, with particularly strong gusts along the coast.

“Wednesday night’s high winds are predicted to bring down trees and branches onto power lines, causing outages throughout our service territory,” said Steven Pasquine, storm manager for Versant Power. “Customers should prepare for the possibility of several days without power and ensure their families have flashlights, water and non-perishable food on hand.”

Versant Power asks customers to prepare for the possibility of difficult travel conditions and power outages by:

  • Charging your cellphone and other electronic devices.
  • Preparing flashlights and a battery-operated radio in case you must shelter in place.
  • If you must travel, be watchful for downed trees, branches or power lines.
  • If you have a generator, review the manufacturer’s guidelines to ensure you use it safely.

Versant Power will have additional crews in the field, as well as extra Customer Service Representatives and support staff ready to help if your power goes out. Customers can report outages by filling out a Power Issue Report Form at versantpower.com, calling our Customer Contact Center at 1.855.363.7211 or 207.973.2000, or directly through their Online Services account.

Updates will be shared at versantpower.com or on X (formerly Twitter) @versantpower.
