$65 million federal grant awarded for Maine grid improvements Release Date: 10-18-2024The U.S. Department of Energy announced today that a Maine partnership, including the Maine Governor's Energy Office, Versant Power and Central Maine Power, has been awarded a $65 million grant to help with grid planning and operation throughout the state. The project, known as Flexible Interconnections and Resilience for Maine, or FIRM, will help Versant and CMP improve grid management and enhance grid stability, among other benefits.
